The holidays are upon us and we’re here to help you give the perfect gift to the Wisconsin nature lovers in your life:
Give a gift membership to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin. Members have the advantage of registering early for our popular field trip program, which includes more than 150 field trips across the state. Members also receive our quarterly Bridges newsletter and our monthly e-newsletter. You can give a gift membership online (make sure to complete the “I want my donation to be dedicated…” section and check the “send acknowledgement” box so we can contact your recipient). You can also call our office at 866-264-4096. NOTE: If you would like a gift recipient to be notified by Dec. 24, we will need to receive your donation by 4 p.m. Dec. 16. If you’re aiming for Dec. 31, we will need to receive your donation by 4 p.m. Dec. 23.
Get a feel for our great field trip selection by checking out our 2015 Field Trip Guidebook.
Make a donation to the Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund as a gift. Donations to the fund provide habitat management for our state-managed conservation lands, such as state parks, state natural areas, state wildlife areas and state fishery areas. The Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund exists so we can start now to ensure the future enjoyment of our publicly owned lands and waters. If you give this gift, your recipient will receive a card in the mail from the Foundation alerting him/her to your generous donation. To donate to the Cherish Wisconsin Outdoors Fund as a gift, you can purchase a gift membership to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, insert “Cherish Fund” in the Special Purpose section here or use the Donate Now Page and dedicate the gift to Cherish Fund under the “Donate to an Endowed Fund” section. There is a place below that to name someone the gift honors. In either case, be sure to click “Please send an “acknowledgement” and select “Send Postal Mail acknowledgement.”
NOTE: If you would like a gift recipient to be notified by Dec. 24, we will need to receive your donation by 4 p.m. Dec. 16. If you’re aiming for Dec. 31, we will need to receive your donation by 4 p.m. Dec. 23.
Give an I Heart Wisconsin T-shirt. This is the perfect gift for anyone who likes to wear their love for Wisconsin loud and proud. The I Heart Wisconsin logo was created for the Natural Resources Foundation executive director’s kayak trip down the Wisconsin River this fall. It represents a love for and commitment to the amazing lands, waters and wildlife that Wisconsin offers us. T-shirts are 100 percent cotton, printed in Madison, and cost $20. Every purchase supports the Foundation’s work protecting and connecting people to Wisconsin’s wild places. Visit the Foundation’s square marketplace and get one for someone special today!
New drivers, family friends who are hard to shop for and nature lovers alike will love the new bald eagle license plate from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. Print the gift card here and give it as a holiday gift! You’ll write a check and include it with the card to underwrite the purchase of the plate. The gift recipient will need to fill out the application for the eagle plate and send the application and check via mail or take it to a DMV. Visit this page for more info.
Get them a 2016 annual state parks admission sticker. Want to help someone get out and enjoy Wisconsin’s natural beauty? In order to hike, swim, ski, bird, or camp in any of the state’s wonderful natural treasures, your special someone will need a state parks admission sticker. Even better, the purchase helps support the ongoing maintenance of the park system. The sticker costs $28 for Wisconsin residents and can be purchased at DNR service centers, state parks, some local business or over the phone. For more information visit this DNR page.
If you want to give a little something extra in the name of your outdoor enthusiast friend, check out the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks gift packages. You can combine an annual state park sticker with donations to specific state park programs, trail passes, calendars or a variety of books.
