Wisconservation Corps Member at Work

"When I saw the Wisconservation Corps job posting, I was very excited to join the program. Not only would I be advancing my career by learning about habitat management, but I would also be giving back to my community through the AmeriCorps program."

The Foundation hires Corps members in the summer and winter each year for positions that start in the Fall and early Spring.  We are no longer accepting applications for our winter 2010 hiring cycle.  We encourage all interested applicants to check back this summer.

Position responsibilities range from participating in prescribed burns and invasive species control to coordinating outreach, education and volunteer efforts, to assisting with research and monitoring projects, to leading field trips.

Successful applicants have college degrees, volunteer experience, and a demonstrated commitment to conservation.  There is no upper age limit and the Foundation welcomes qualified applications from people at various stages on their career path.  Positions can be full or part-time appointments for six or twelve months.

The Wisconservation Corps provides meaningful conservation outcomes and excellent professional development opportunities for aspiring conservation professionals. Corps members receive a small salary, a generous educational stipend, and on-the-job training. For more information on AmeriCorps generally, visit www.americorps.org.
